North Carolina Distributes $900,000 Worth of PPE to Agricultural Workers to Fight COVID-19

Agricultural workers in North Carolina are receiving $900,000 worth of masks and other personal protective equipment from state health officials to combat COVID-19, according to a report from FOX 8.

The assistance from the state is intended to lessen the financial burden on farm owners already stretched thin because of COVID-19.

Steve Troxler, North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, said this effort is important to protect these essential workers.

“We are dependent on these farmworkers for the efficiency of our farms and the food supply,” Troxler said.
