No Injuries Reported Following Ag Partners LLC Grain Elevator Explosion in Royal, IA

ROYAL, Iowa — No injuries were reported following an explosion at a grain elevator in Royal, IA on Tuesday afternoon, according to a KTIV-News report.

Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling said the explosion happened around 3:15 p.m. at the Ag Partners elevator. He said no one was in the elevator at the time of the explosion, and no injuries were reported.

The concrete tank explosion happened in a part of the elevator that houses both corn and soybeans. After cutting off electricity and gas, the concern switched to protecting the crews and surrounding residents.

Emergency responders from Royal and surrounding communities had previously done training walk-throughs at this facility.

A structural engineer was summoned to examine the extent of the damage. A cause of the explosion was not yet available.
