According to the Aberdeen Insider, an employee at the Agtegra Cooperative died following an incident on Thursday morning at the Roscoe, South Dakota location.
The Edmunds County Sheriff confirmed the fatality occurred on Thursday just after 10 a.m. and that the incident involved a grain conveyor.
Agtegra Cooperative CEO Jason Klootwyk released the following statement on Friday:
“Yesterday morning the Agtegra Cooperative family suffered a tragic loss of an employee at our Roscoe location. Agtegra Cooperative is devasted by this tragedy and sending our thoughts and prayers to the employee’s family, friends, coworkers and community.
We also want to express our appreciation to the first responders and community members that were involved in responding to this accident. Our team continues to work with local authorities and is in the process of conducting a thorough investigation.”
